125th Anniversary Celebrations We are currently finalising plans for our 125th Anniversary Celebrations within the club and what a weekend we promise to have for you on the August Bank Holiday weekend. It will begin with a Club Long Puck on Friday evening August 30th over a 2 mile course down in Kinsalebeg to which all are welcome which will start at Piltown Church at 6.30pm with a €5 entry fee for adults and each team must include one juvenile player. On Saturday evening a commemorative Hurling Challenge will be played against old rivals Fenor at 7pm at the Club Field. Then onto Sunday and at 2pm we will begin with Parish Leagues for all ages followed by a Barbecue and refreshments for all patrons along with Kids entertainment throughout such as Facepainting etc. This will all culminate in an exhibition or "Grudge" match between the two sides of the parish Clashmore and Kinsalebeg which will be played between two teams of past players which should prove to be an epic battle indeed. Keep an eye on the website for more details and you will also see posters up here an there detailing same. Suffice to say you should keep your diary open for August Bank Holiday weekend 2010! 125th Anniversary Sports Gear We are in the process of ordering a range of Limited Edition Sportswear with specially designed 125th Logos to celebrate our Club's 125th anniversary, which will include a Club Polo Shirt, a Club Rain Jacket and Club T-shirts in various sizes from kids up to adults. Anyone interested in pre-ordering an item should register their interest with Mary O'Halloran or Padraig Connery to get in ahead of the rest! Munster Hurling Final ReplayWe want to say a huge congratulations to the Waterford Senior Hurlers and their backroom team after an epic Munster Final Replay win over Cork on Saturday night last. We want to especially mention our own Brian O'Halloran who made his Senior debut in this game and by doing so has made his own piece of history in our club's 125th year and has made this club and the entire parish swell with pride in his achievement thus far. Coming from a Kinsalebeg family steeped in GAA, he also added his name to the scoresheet with a point after only thirty seconds of being on the field and we are sure that it will be the first of many for a player who has a very promising Inter-County career ahead of him. Well done Brian!
This week's Match Fixtures Our Minor Hurling game which had been fixed for tonight has been postponed but our Intermediate Footballers are in action on Friday evening as they take on The Nire second-string side in their third group game in Cappoquin at 7.30pm and it is important for them to finish the group on a winning note here so we hope to see all of our supporters travel up to support the lads on Friday evening. Also our Junior footballers will play their final group game on Monday evening next as they take on Stradbally in the Fraher Field at 7.30pm so the best of luck to them in that.
Last week's Match results Our Minor Hurlers finally opened their campaign last week as they played their first Division 3 game against Brickey Rangers at Bushy Park on Wednesday evening and were unlucky to lose out by a goal in the end on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-14. Our Intermediate Hurlers played their third group game on Sunday against Abbeyside in the Fraher Field on an atrocious day for hurling and after a very hardworking performance they came out on top by 1-7 to 0-2 at the end to make it two wins from three in their group.
