125th Anniversary Celebrations
We are currently finalising plans for our 125th Anniversary Celebrations within the club and what a weekend we promise to have for you on the August Bank Holiday weekend. It will include a Monster Long Puck on the Friday evening down in Kinsalebeg, a commemorative Hurling Challenge on Saturday evening in Clashmore, Parish Leagues on Sunday afternoon which we hope to get every able bodied player in the club involved in and to conclude an exhibition or "Grudge" match between the two sides of the parish Clashmore and Kinsalebeg which will be played ,in part, by juvenile, adult and past players which should prove to be an epic battle indeed. There will be a barbecue on the day for all patrons and many activities for the younger kids but we will have more details in the next week or so. Suffice to say you should keep your diary open for August Bank Holiday weekend 2010!

125th Anniversary Sports Wear
We are in the process of ordering a range of Limited Edition Sportswear with specially designed 125th Logos to celebrate our Club's 125th anniversary, which will include a Club Polo Shirt, a Club Rain Jacket and Club T-shirts in various sizes from kids up to adults. Anyone interested in pre-ordering an item should register their interest with Mary O'Halloran or myself to get in ahead of the rest!

This week's fixtures

Our Minor Hurlers finally open their campaign this week as they play their first Division 3 game against Brickey Rangers at Bushy Park on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm so best of luck to them as they try to emulate their Minor predecessors brilliant efforts last year.
Our Intermediate Hurlers will play their third group game on Sunday coming against Abbeyside in the Fraher Field at 2pm in a game where a win is vital to strengthen our position in the group so the best of luck to the lads in this one and we hope to see as many of our supporters coming along as possible.

Waterford Senior Footballers
Our County Footballer's championship year finally hit a cul-de-sac on Saturday evening last as they were knocked out by a slightly stronger Offaly outfit at Tullamore on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-10 in their Qualifier match. A pity then that two key players in Captain Tony Grey and Tommy Prendergast were missing on the night as this game might have been a much closer affair otherwise. Nevertheless I think I speak on behalf of the whole club when I say that we were extremely proud of the rousing performances of our footballers throughout this year, in particular of our own club's two representatives Kieran Connery and Cillian O'Keeffe who played their parts along the way, and we are confident that the huge improvements made with this panel by John Owens and his backroom team will be a solid springboard for the years ahead.

Munster Hurling Final Replay
We trust that all of our club members enjoyed what turned out to be a fabulous Munster Final in Thurles on Sunday against Cork which had a nail-biting conclusion indeed! So on now to a replay on Saturday evening back in Semple Stadium at 7pm and we wish the whole panel and their backroom team the very best of luck in that and hopefully it will be a successful second bite at the cherry. We hope that all of our travelling supporters will have a safe journey and if there are any few left who still want tickets for the game can you please contact the Secretary John Foley before today is out.

New Club Website
Our present club website has been a great success over the last few years but the time had come to revamp it a bit so we have developed a completely new website with the same address www.ckgaa.com which retains all of the features of the old one but in a much more user-friendly way. It contains a super Image Gallery with action shots and team photos old and new and a comprehensive Club Archive which contains match reports going back to 1890, a period in time when Kinsalebeg reigned supreme in this County and should be of interest to young and old members of this club and beyond. The site will be under constant development so we want to hear any of your ideas as to what you might like to see appear on it. We can also be seen on our club Facebook page so please become a member of our group to keep up-to-date with all club events etc.

Club Memorabilia
With the completion of our new clubhouse fast approaching we are looking forward to fitting out our new clubroom walls with every aspect of our club's history such as photographs and medals etc. We are hoping to be able to display one of each of our County Championship medals won by this club in our new clubroom, in particular the County medals from 1886,1891,1903-1907, 1920, 1925 and 1962, so if anyone is willing to contribute to this effort can you please contact the P.R.O. on 086-0740461.
