U-14 Football
The County Football Final Replay was played on last Saturday in Fraher Field against Roanmore, and as predicted this was a tough match with the result unsure until the dying minutes of the game.

Our lads went ahead in the first half and had a four points lead at half time. Roanmore came back in the second half with a point and with only a goal between the sides, put severe pressure on our backs for a long period of time. However our backs held firm and with great saving from our goalie, Aidan Keating, who had a brilliant game and saved time after time, the tide turned and we finished on a score of 2- 04 to 3 points.

Well done to all the players and to the subs for their work during the year. Every match counts and that’s what makes great teams.

Captain, Danny O’Neill accepted the cup on behalf of the team and thanked the Trainers, Aidan O’Rourke, Roger Ryan and Pat O’Sullivan for all their hard work. He also thanked all the parents for the lifts to matches and the many supporters who attended the games.

The team and supporters were treated to refreshments at the Deise Bar and we would like to thank Aine very much for her generosity. Also thanks to John Stapleton, shopkeeper in Clashmore, for his donation of minerals for the team. Many thanks to our water boys on the day, Paudie Connery, Declan Hickey, Philip Dee and Barry Dunne. Finally thanks to Kieran Connery for his words of wisdom and encouragement to the lads before the match.

It was great to see the large number of supporters on the day. This is a great and historic win for our Club on this our 125 years anniversary so again congratulations to all involved.

U-16 Hurling
Well done to our team who put up a great battle against Lismore in Clashmore on Monday evening last. While Lismore won by 5 points in the end they didn’t have it all their own way and our boys put in a great effort for this one.

U-12 Football
We have played two matches so far, winning both. We had a very tight game against St Olivers last week and beat Ardmore last weekend. The next match is against Lismore on Thursday evening in Clashmore at 7pm.

Trip to Croke Park. Our U-12 football team is taking part in a blitz in Croke Park on Wednesday 14th July. This is going to be a very special day for them and as well as playing 3 matches there will be a visit to the museum included. We hope this goes really well and that you all have a great day.

Student of the Year
Congratulations to Pat O’Sullivan on his great achievement of being named as Student of the Year for the work he put in during his sports study course for the past year. Pat puts in huge work for the club so it is great to see him reaping success. Who knows where he will stop now. We wish you well Pat.
