The Juvenile GAA Club AGM took place recently at Clashmore Heritage Centre. The first report was given by Mary O’Halloran, Secretary, and the gradings for the coming year were discussed at length, followed by a very comprehensive financial statement for the year which was presented by Gemma O’Connor, Treasurer. Tim Bourke, Chairman, then gave his summary of the past year, and looking back, it was easy to see that we had competed very well at all levels by the number of County Finals we contested. While we failed to bring home any silver ware, it was down to Lady Luck rather than a lack of ability on most days. It was good to see some of our older juvenile players taking part in the historic Minor football win for the club in 2009, and this minor side of course came up through the ranks of the Juvenile Club showing for all to see what fantastic work has been put in at Juvenile level in this Club in the past few years.
Tim finished by thanking all who helped the club in any way, i.e. our sponsors, Brendan and Jane O’Sullivan, for the sponsorship of new Jerseys, to Aine and her staff at The Decies Bar for their sponsorship, to the Adult GAA Club for their continued donation of funds to the Juveniles and many thanks to all who helped in the running of the Easter raffle and those who work each week in collecting the money for the Lotto Draw.
Last but certainly not least Tim thanked the parents, who help out in many ways, but especially for transport to matches and equally all the mentors for their time and effort during the year.
The meeting went on to elect the new committee for the coming year.
