Intermediate Hurling Championship The first round of the 2010 Intermediate Hurling Championship will be played on this Sunday May 2nd as we take on the combined Tourin/Glen Rovers team in Cappoquin at 3.00pm. Both teams will be hoping to get off to a good start here because as always getting points on the board early on is a huge advantage so we hope to see you all in Cappoquin on Sunday afternoon to cheer the lads on in this new campaign.
Munster Minor Hurling Championship
We want to wish the very best of luck to Darren Foley who represents our club on the Waterford Minor Hurling panel as they take on Clare in the first round of the Munster Championship tonight in Walsh Park at 18.30pm and we hope that many of our supporters will travel down to follow the team.
Lá na gClub After being such a fantastic success last year, the GAA have again set aside a day this year for Lá na gClub, namely Sunday May 9th, which is basically a day where no official fixtures are played across the country and every club is free to have a fun day, whether it be holding matches or novelty events etc. Everyone involved last year seemed to really enjoy the day so we want to try and replicate that again this year and we are appealing to everybody, not just club members, to come up with any ideas for fun events which you think would fit into a day like this. Anyone who has suggestions should contact Liam Dunne on 086-0740461 and we all look forward another enjoyable day!
U14 Division 2 County Final So near and yet so far for our U14 Footballers on Saturday last as they recorded a nail-biting draw with city rivals Roanmore in the Division 2 County Final on a scoreline of 0-8 to 2-2. Our lads may have had the greater amount of possession over the course of this game but the city team were worth every bit of this result and let no one be in any doubt that the replay will again be a tough challenge for our lads. The replay has been fixed for the Fraher Field on Saturday next at 12.00pm so please come along to cheer on this talented bunch of young footballers in their quest for County honours.
2010 Membership The Club Membership is now due for all players and non-playing members who haven't yet paid up and it is especially important for the players to be fully registered, as the 2010 games have already started and remember that you are not insured on the playing field unless you are registered and paid up! The fees for this year are the usual €70 for Adult Players, €50 for students and €20 for non-playing members so anyone who is left to pay up should do so as quickly as possible.
Lifetime Membership Cards Any of our Lifetime Members who are yet to receive their membership cards and booklets can you please ring Membership Co-ordinator Barry Dunne on 087-6953648 to receive same.
