Minor Hurling Championship

Our Minor hurlers played Cois Bhride in their second last group match on last Wednesday evening and came out narrow victors on a scoreline of 2-14 to 4-6 after a very entertaining match, with young 'Tucker' rattling the net twice just when we needed the goals most. They now go on to play Cappoquin in the last game on this evening at 7pm in Bushy Park, in what is a must win game if they are to progress in this years championship, so we want as much support as possible to come along and cheer on the lads at this last hurdle.

Senior Football Fixture

Our Senior Footballers had a useful workout on Saturday evening last as they took on St. Declans in Ardmore in the semi-finals of the Phelan Cup, winning by a margin of 1-16 to 0-9 points, meaning that they now go on to play Stradbally in the Phelan Cup final, a game which is yet to be fixed.

Club Gear
The new club gear is currently with Billy O'Halloran so anyone who ordered club tops etc. can contact Billy or meet him after training to collect your order, or indeed anyone else who is interested in some club gear should contact him, as there will be extra merchandise.

Golfing Triumph
Well done to one of our talented young Minor players David Byrne of Rath, Kinsalebeg, who plays off a mean handicap of 7, on his recent triumph with the West Waterford Youths team which won the Munster Foursomes competition at Lee Valley recently. They now go on to represent Munster at All-Ireland level up in Antrim at the end of August, so the very best of luck to you in that David.

Leaving Cert Results

We want to wish the best of luck to all of our young club players who are expecting their Leaving Cert results today after an agonising wait since the exams finished at the end of June. We wish ye all the best in the pursuit of your chosen careers, and hope that whatever that might be won't take you too far away from GAA club life here in Clashmore!

Waterford Hurlers
The very best of luck to the Waterford Hurlers on Sunday next as they face Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final to see who will grapple with an awesome Kilkenny team in the final in September, and to all of club patrons who are travelling up to Croke Park we wish everyone a safe journey and an enjoyable day.
